Research the ten topics we have discussed in class. List the issues in the order that you think they should be tackled. Think about cost, difficulty, impact and urgency. then explain your top three choices and your last choice.
1. Global warming:This on top of my list is because if this continues to go on, our food sources and livestock will die off. Not only that, but global warming can bring tremenduous amount of storms. On the other hand, this doesn't just effect America, it effect the whole world. 2.Aids in AFrica: This is second on the list because if we don't solve this problem, it can possibly spread to America and even worldwide. 3.Nuclear Weapons: This is third on my list because were not just focusing on North Korea itself, but every country that can receive nuclear weapons from North Korea. For example; Iran, Syria, and Pakistan. Therefore, every countries in the world can be a victim of a nuclear bomb, like Japan. 4.Famine in Africa 5.Child Soldier 6.Child Labor 7.Drug Cartel 8.Palestine 9.Sex Trafficking 10.Animal Fur: This is last on my list because its not a big problem like aids in Africa or Globalwarming. As the population continues to grow, food resources will decrease. Therefore we have to find more or different resources for food, possibly those animals that people are using their fur.So, I think its no point.
10.Fur - In my opinion a human's life is by far more important than an animal's 9.Sex trafficing 8.Child soldiers 7.Child labor 6.Palestine 5.Drug Cartel 4.Aids in Africa 3.Famine in Africa - Africa is in clear need of rebuilding and it has many economic opportunities although without even the sustenance of food, the people of Africa can't rebuild 2.Nuclear war - If a nucleur bomb is dropped, where ever that bomb hits will be devistated. Everything and anything in the way could be wiped out by one bomb. Nuclear bombs hold exponential power 1.Global warming - Regardless of what is going on in the world, if we don't stop global warming the earth as a whole will eventually collapse because of the effects from global warming.
1.)Nuclear weapons- This is first because this is something that can end the world and this is something that cost a lot of money and has a lot of people worried. 2.)Aids in africa- This is second because this is killing people in africa and, it is spreading. 3.)Global warming-This is third because this is something that is continuously growing and nobody relizes and when all of our fresh water is gone then people are going to worry 4.)Drug cartel 5.)Child labor 6.)Famine in africa 7.)Child soldier 8.)Sex trafficing 9.)Palestine 10.)Fur animals- I put this last because it is not really important as in nuclear weapons or my top three this is not something that can end the world.
1. Child Labor 2. Aids Africa 3. Famine in Africa 4. Drug Cartel 5. Child Soldier 6. Nuclear Weapons 7. Palestine 8. Sex Trafficking 9. Fur 10. Global Warming
The reason I chose my three topics because I believe those are the most urgen events that affect a large amount of people as of today. I put Global Warming as the least urgen because it is a long term event and it is something that people around the world need to get involve as well. If Model UN is able to turn down all the green house gases producing factories and people don't change their lifestyle, Global Warming will not be solved.
1.Famine in Africa- this is the most important issue that need to be focused on more because there are way to many people in africa who are lacking the basic neccesity of food and without that they wont be able to live and prosper, and we need to help out because People are Dying just because their Hungry. 2.Aids in Africa- this is a World epidemic and this need to be resolved because this is not something that can not be cured but only provented so we need to bring about more awareness. Aids has a domino effect that needs to come to a hault. 3.Nuclear Weapons- we need to solve this issue because we are the people who live in World, and we need to feel safe in their own homelands without worry of nuclear weapons. 4.Drug Cartel 5.Child Labor 6.Child Soldiers 7.Palestine 8.Global Warming 9.Sex Trafficing 10.Fur- we need to focus more on people than animals but animals are still important but is just the least important in this case.
1.Famine In Africa: Most difficult, costly, impactful and urgent of them all. It's difficult because the resources are there but getting it directly to the people is a challenge due to governtment interference and the little that does get to the people are usually stolen by rebels. Buying food for countries in Africa is already costing millions, and it is bery urgent because food is life's main necessity. 2.Aids in Africa: Aids impacts alot of people because alot of people have it and don't know. It's very urgent because it is continuing to spread. Aids in Africa is difficult to help because it all depends on peoples morals. People will be saved if they take it upon themselves to use contraceptives. It's entirely upon their own volition. So if people don't want to be saved "Is the juice worth the squeeze"? I would say it is but it'd difficuly to persuade and help unmotivated people. 3.Child Labor 4.Sexd Trafficking 5.Drug Cartels 6.Child Soldiers 7.Palestine v. Israel 8.North Korean Nukes 9.Global Warming 10.Fur/Animal Rights: This isssue is based
1 global warming all living oraganims have impact to environment directly or indirectly, if we stop impacting it will affect our life too 2 aid in africa African do not have well knowledge about Aid, they are lacking of living need, the country is poor. People just do whatever help their life better, instead of known about the effect of disease. 3sex trafficking this happens every where on the world, special with women and chliden. they get money and doen't know that they are under sex trafficking. 4 child labor
1. Famine in Africa- It is urgent because people are sufferening because of something simple which is food. It has a big impact because it not only affects adults but children as well. 2. Aids in Africa- It has a buig impact because it can spread to many people. It is urgent because a lot of people are unaware they have aids so they are spreading the deadly disease. 3. Sex Trafficking- It is urgent because people are being stolen from their families and it affects the victim and the family. It is urgent because people are dieing and being abused.
1.Famine in Africa: This issue is first on the list becuase of the amount of children & adults dying everyday from the lack of food & basic necessities. Plus if the governments of these countries aren't willing to help their own people, then the global community should provide assistance 2.Nuclear weapons: This is second on my list because of the potential danger that these weapons can pose to entire cities. The mass numbers of people who will be impacted by the devastation, if countries can get there hands on these weapons 3.Global warming: This issue will affect the entire planet & all of its inhabitants, never mind the problems in just one country, when the entire planet will be affected as a whole. Our food, resources, animals, and lives will be harmed by global warming. 4.AIDS in Africa 5.Drug Cartel Violence 6.Sex trafficking 7.Child labor 8.Palestine 9.Child soldiers 10.Fur: This issue is last because human lives are not being affected by it.
1. Famine in Africa 2. Sex Trafficking 3. Aids in Africa 4. Child Labor 5. Child Soldiers 6. Drug Cartels in Mexico 7. Nuclear Weapons 8. Palestine 9. Global Warming 10. Fur
1.) Sex Trafficking-27 million men, women and children are held as slaves. 27 Million? It generates profits in excess of 32 billion dollars? This UN issue is the most impactful as you can tell. Why? Well, simply because the number of victims is just incredibly high. Not only that, this could affect their lives in a way that is not reversible. When women and children are being forced into having sex with men this raises their chances of being affected with AIDS. Those men could be carrying aids which could later be transmitted to women. If women are tested HIV then they have to live with it for the rest of their life. Not only that but it also raises the statistics of AIDS. Thus, This sex-trafficking issue needs to be tackled soon!
2.) Famine in Africa-13.3 million people are in need of humanitarian assistance in the Horn of Africa, 360,000 are estimated to be pregnant women.. If those 13.3 million people don’t get humanitarian assistance then they will die. 3.)Aids in Africa-2.3. Million People are constantly dying from aids. If we don’t stop aids then it will keep increasing.
4.)Child Labour Millions of children work to help their families in ways that are neither harmful nor exploitative. But one in six children 5 to 14 years old, about 16 percent of all children in this age group, is involved in child labor in developing countries. Children between the ages of 5 to 16 should not be forced into child labor.
10.) Fur -The abuse and exploitation of non-human animals is pervasive throughout our society. According to the United States Department of Agriculture, in the United States, over 9 billion animals are slaughtered for human consumption every year, approximately 20 million suffer in laboratories, another 5 million are killed for their fur, and countless others are enslaved for entertainment.Yes, they are animals that being abused but this is not as important as humans.
1. Drug Cartel This issue is current and its a high threat to many countries. As the power of the drug cartels grow, bordering countries such as America, is in danger.
2. Global Warming
The issue with Global Warming is that it is a long term process. Many people don't believe in it, which is fine. All bias aside, waiting to find out what is going to happen with the whole issue of global warming is risky. If all it takes is to make small changes in your home to save a whole planet then it's not so much to ask. Nonetheless, people remain ignorant about the situation that is why I think it is high risk.
3. Famine in Africa To think of a whole nation dying of hunger is horrifying. It is something that can be solved. There are foods available. All we need is order to be able to reach out to these people in need
8. Child Soldier Child soldier is a result of so many other major problem. That is why I think its a harder issue to tackle. Child soldiers are terrorizing the public just as much as everything else. So, if we tackle other issues then we will be able to bring these children home.
9. Fur Nothing is more ignorant than hearing people say that "they are just animals". I think it is a bigger problem. It's about ethics and civilization. Animal or not people should not be killing them to make fur. It is unethical and shows that we are made up savages. It unconsciously reflects our behavior as a human society.
10. Sex Trafficking This issue is very important. No one should be forced to become sex slave. As a feminist, I have a lot to say about that. However, trying to control sex trafficking is merely impossible. In the video, they explained how women believe they are going overseas to study. There is the issue of prostitutes, which cannot be controlled then there is the issue of women thinking they are getting an education. The public should raise awareness about this issue as it is a social issue. As for women who are stolen/kidnap the countries should develop a stronger security system.
